If you’re a fan of Minecraft and happen to own a Oculus Rift VR headset, then you’ll be happy to know that th two are coming together next week according to Tommasi Checchi, a developer at Mojang. Ever since Microsoft acquired Mojang it has been trying to revamp Minecraft, not only in some of the game elements but in how the game is distributed.
Windows 10 beta
One of these new additions was the Minecraft for Windows 10 beta which debuted alongside the OS launch. Microsoft offers this for free as long as you own Minecraft originally – based on the mobile version this is where all the new development is taking place, one of which is now the inclusion of Oculus Rift support.
PSA: unsurprisingly, promised dates change 🙂
We said that Rift support would be in 0.15.6, but it will be out next week instead!— Tommaso Checchi (@_tomcc) August 11, 2016
Minecraft Windows 10 beta version 0.15.6 will include support for the headset and will be launched next week.
