Another week has gone by and it is time, once again to go over the best stories we had here on A&T Tech. This week, right at the start it was rumoured that Apple might launch a new (PRODUCT)RED version of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus and as you know, they did and although it did seem that was all that was talked about this week, there was other news. Apple Music now has a record amount of subscribers and Gmail is getting a new lick of paint. Here are our top five stories of the past week:
Apple launches (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
Right at the start of the week, Apple launched a new (PRODUCT)RED version of the current iPhone 8, with proceeds going to the (RED) charity, which is run by Bono. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are both on sale now, with no price differences for the special edition.
Google Home and Home Mini now on sale in India
Google is now offering the Google Home (pictured) and the Google Home Mini in India, while Hindi isn’t actually supported yet it should be coming “later this year”
Apple Music has now hit 40 million subscribers
As we discuss in the post, Apple is new to the streaming service game, when compared to the competition and the rate of growth is impressive. Apple Music hit the 40 million subscriber mark this week.
Nest Cam IQ Outdoor is now available in Europe
After a short wait, Nest is now offering the Nest Cam IQ Outdoor in Europe, which does include the UK. The camera was launched at the tail end of last year, but only in the US but this week it has been put on sale now for £329 / €379 from nest.com and other stores.
A full Gmail redesign is coming soon to the web
This turned out to be a popular story this week, while the current Gmail on the web design is getting a bit long in the tooth now, Google has announced that Google Mail for the web will be getting a fresh new look, which will take cues from its Material Design language. Currently in beta testing, coming soon.
