Dacia will be putting the new Jogger Hybrid on sale here in the UK next month, will the first cars for customers to be available in March. The car will be the first electrified UK model we will have seen from the Romanian company and while we haven’t seen prices yet, it is likely to be the cheapest hybrid MPV on the market.
Dacia will be opening up for orders in January, with the first cars to come to customers in March. The car will use the same 1.6-litre petrol engine that is also found in the Renault Clio E-Tech and Renault Captur E-Tech. This means that the Jogger Hybrid will have 138bhp and 184lb ft torque, with two electric motors helping boost the performance where it can.
The battery here is a 1.2kWh unit and will be available for use in some urban situations. However, when using the hybrid system in city driving, Dacia said that it makes the car 40% more fuel-efficient that the combustion only model. Performance isn’t earth shattering – while Dacia hasn’t released any official specs, we do have the figures from the Clio hybrid which manages 0-60mph in 9.9 seconds with a top speed of 112mph.
In terms of other EV Dacia models, the company does offer the all electric Dacia Spring in other areas in Europe, where it is priced at the equivalent of £10,630. However, sadly this car won’t be coming to the UK until after 2024 at least.
